I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Designation (LPCC-S) with the Ohio CSWMFT Board. LPCC-S are the only license type that can give training supervision to a Licensed Professional Counselors & Counselor Trainees.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in the Social Sciences with a concentration in Psychology from Hiram College in 2000. I decided to stay home with my two children for 4 years before earning my Masters of Education in Clinical Community Counseling from Kent State University in 2009. Post graduate school I obtained my Supervisory Designation @ John Caroll University in 2016.
Currently, I provide mental health therapy services to individuals and couples from later adolescents via adulthood in a private practice setting. I utilize a wide variety of evidenced based strategies, such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, insight-oriented therapies, Strength-based strategies & Relaxation techniques to help clients process experiences, emotions, decrease & manage symptoms, get a fresh perspective on a problem & learn new ways of coping with life’s challenges. I have worked with folks struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, relationship challenges, communication issues, low-self esteem, adjustment issues, work stress, social issues, and other life challenges
Couple counseling can consist of (premarital, marital, significant others/intimate relationships, parent-child and sibling relationships).
My therapeutic approach is easy-going, empathic and engaging, and with warmth and curiosity, I will offer an attentive ear, humor, experience, and my unique therapeutic perspective to help work though the problems at hand.
