Does this sound or feel familiar?

Whether life feels like it is falling apart or just not quite right- something brought you here today. You are managing. You are showing up. Yet you are ready to feel better.
My approach is collaborative, direct, and respectful. I am empathic, insightful, and compassionate – bringing clinical skill, genuine care, and humor when the moment is right. Skilled in both the science and the art of therapy – because the research matters, and so does the relationship. Every session is tailored to you.

You do not have to figure this out alone.

"The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself."

-Michel de Montaigne

Individual Counseling

How I can help

I have been helping individuals for over 17 years with a wide range of life challenges.

Therapy can be short-term and focused, or longer-term and exploratory. Sometimes you need help to address and manage an immediate situation, working toward skill-building and relief. Other times you may be looking to explore and transform more chronic or recurring patterns. We will figure out together what kind of support will help you most.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY CAN HELP YOU

Areas I specialize in

Anxiety

Anxiety does not always look the way people expect. It might be a racing mind, a tightness in your chest, restlessness, or a persistent sense that something difficult is coming. For some, it arrives as sudden panic. For others, it builds slowly until it affects everything. Anxiety and depression can go hand in hand.

Depression is more than feeling sad. It can settle in quietly – a gradual loss of interest in things you once loved, a heaviness that makes even simple tasks feel like too much. Depression and anxiety can go hand in hand, and addressing both together often leads to deeper, more lasting relief.

Life transitions, big and small, can leave you feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or lost – even when the change is one you chose. A new job, a career shift, a move, getting married, retiring, or experiencing loss in any of its many forms. Even welcomed change can be harder than people expect.

FAQs About Individual Counseling

What is the difference between a therapist and a friend or family member?

Friends are important yet involved in your life. A professional brings objectivity, training, and experience. I can listen without judgment, ensure confidentiality, provide helpful perspectives, and teach new skills.

What happens during sessions?

In general, we’ll talk about what’s currently happening in your life, explore history that feels relevant to what you’re working through, and reflect on your progress and any new insights along the way. Together, we’ll shape what feels most important to focus on; I’ll offer feedback, ask questions, and help guide where we go from there. At times, I may suggest things to try or reflect on between sessions, always at your own pace and never an obligation.

How long will I be in counseling?

Counseling can be short-term for a specific issue, or longer-term to address more deep-rooted patterns. We will discuss this as I learn more about your situation and goals.

What are your fees?

Free 15-minute phone or video consultation. Initial appointment (60 min): $199. Subsequent individual therapy (45 min): $160. Individual therapy (60 min): $175. Payment by Zelle or credit card at time of service.
